Police have taken further enforcement action as part of an investigation into mass gatherings held at the Auckland Domain earlier this month.

Two people, a 44-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, have been summoned to appear in the Auckland District Court on 11 November 2021.

They will be appearing on charges relating to organising and attending mass gatherings held on 2 and 16 October, in breach of Alert level 3 restrictions.

Operation Daleyza – Police seek to identify those who used Mt Albert walkway

Police investigating the alleged murder of Lena Zhang Harrap are seeking to identify a number of people who have been seen on CCTV walking through a walkway in Mt Albert on the day of her death.

As a result of extensive CCTV enquiries, dozens of people have been seen walking through the walkway which links Grande Avenue and Summit Drive, near Owairaka/Mt Albert Domain, on Wednesday 22nd September, the day Lena was killed.

Firearms incident, Mt Roskill

One person is in hospital following a firearms incident in Mt Roskill last night.

Shortly before 9pm reports were received of a shot being fired towards an address in Morrie Laing Ave.

The injured person was taken to hospital where they remain in a serious but stable condition.

A vehicle was heard driving off at speed immediately following the shooting, and Police are seeking sightings or any information which may assist our investigations.

Fatal crash, Ōrākei

Attributable to Inspector Jason Homan:

One person has died after a 2-car crash in Auckand overnight.

It happened at the intersection of Brenton Place and Kepa Road in Ōrākei, around 11:45pm.

The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

There were no significant injuries for any of the occupants in the other vehicle.

The Serious Crash Unit has attended the scene, and the road remains closed this morning while scene examinations continue.

Police staff self isolating after incident with Covid-19 positive person

Four Police staff members from the Auckland City District are self-isolating following an incident where they were exposed to a person who subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

Police responded to reports of concern for a woman’s welfare shortly before 1pm on Tuesday October 5.

She was located on Miro Road and was spoken to by Police, who transported her to Auckland Hospital for a mental health assessment.

Avondale homicide – Police seek sightings of vehicle of interest (+ image)

Police are appealing for sightings of a vehicle of interest as the homicide investigation continues into the death of Mars Rakeem in Avondale on 2nd October, 2021.

Two people have been arrested and charged to date and Police are making further enquiries and are unable to rule out the possibility of further people being charged.

Police want to hear from anyone with sightings or any information about the whereabouts of a white Mercedes C-63 Saloon – registration NGQ689 (pictured).

Police have now located Te Ariki Poulgrain, who escaped from Corrections custody on 30 June 2021.

Since his escape Police have been making a number of enquiries to locate the 23-year-old and he was arrested at an address in Ōtara today.

He will face a charge of escapes custody and is expected to appear in Auckland District Court via AVL on Monday 13 September 2021.

As this matter is now before the Courts, Police are not able to comment further.

Police carry out DNA testing to help find baby girl’s mother Copy

Police investigating after the discovery of a baby girl’s body at a recycling facility are carrying out a DNA phase in a bid to find out what happened to her and identify her mother.

Police have been making a number of extensive enquiries since the newborn was found at the Onehunga site on August 16th, and are now working through a DNA database to help find her mother.
