Sharp eyes and quick action have led to the recovery of an $80,000 vehicle, a firearm, and a cache of assorted ammunition.
Earlier this week Avondale’s Tactical Crime Unit recovered a stolen vehicle bearing incorrect plates, from outside a Mt Albert address.
A search warrant executed at an associated address led Police to seize a military-style semi-automatic and a large cache of ammunition.

Police have seized a cache of firearms and illegal drugs and arrested a 37-year-old male following information revealed in an ongoing investigation into the illegal importation of restricted firearms into New Zealand.
A search warrant, executed as part of Operation Tauwhiro, at a Central Auckland address has resulted in Police seizing 223 grams of methamphetamine, one shotgun, four rifles and two pistols.

A woman who was seriously injured in a crash in Glendowie on 4th April, 2022, has died in hospital.
The crash, involving two vehicles, happened around 2pm on Riddell Road last Monday.
Muriel Sullivan, aged 86, was taken to Auckland Hospital with serious injuries, where she sadly died on Friday morning (8 April).
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.

Police are seeking information on there whereabouts of Alexander Russell-Jensen, who has been reported missing.
He was last seen in the Grey Lynn area about 2:50pm today.
He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, cargo shorts and a yellow beanie. He also had a black face mask.
Police have concerns for his wellbeing.
Anyone who can help to locate Alexander is asked to contact Police on 111 and quote event number P050199451.

A homicide investigation has been launched after a man has died in Point England overnight.
Police were called to a property on Dalton Street just before midnight to reports that a person had been shot at an address.
Emergency services attended and first aid was attempted, however the man died at the scene.
A 31-year-old man was located at the scene and arrested.
The man, who is known to the victim, has been been charged with Breaching Bail and Unlawful Possession of a firearm and will be appearing in the Auckland District Court today.

Nine offenders have been apprehended following a burglary at a Sandringham superette overnight, including an 11-year-old driver.
Quick-thinking residents called 111 just after 1am and reported three vehicles travelling in a suspicious manner west towards Sandringham.
Inspector Glenn Baldwin, Auckland City West’s Area Prevention Manager, says officers were dispatched into the area.
“Our staff have been patrolling through Sandringham Road and arrived at a superette where one of those vehicles had been used in an alleged ram raid, with a burglary underway.

The 13-year-old girl reported missing from central Auckland on 24 March has been located.
Police located the girl safe and well on Auckland’s North Shore last night.

Police are continuing to appeal for any sightings of missing teenager Aria Bridger.
Police have been making enquiries to locate the 13-year-old since she was reported missing on 24 March.
These enquiries have included area and CCTV canvasses to establish her movements since being reported missing. Police have also been receiving information from the public following our recent appeals, which is being followed up.

Police are at the scene of a fatal crash involving a cyclist on Marua Rd, Mount Wellington.
Sadly the cyclist has died.
The crash was reported to Police around 7.54am.
Motorists are advised that Marua Rd is currently closed.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance and will examine the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash will commence in due course.

A 24-year-old sought by Police in relation to Operation Grizzly has been located.
Enquiries remain ongoing into the 11 March shooting, and Police still want to hear from anyone who knows the man whose photo was published on Thursday, 31 March 2022.
